11th Annual 'We Art the People!' Folk Art Festival

Event Description

Festivities include a Giant Puppet Parade, over 100 arts and crafts vendors selling affordable, locally-hand-made unique creations, free art making activities in our giant art-making tent and other group art projects for kids of all ages.

There will be two performance stages with five different folk styles of music, folk dancing, magic, performance art and food provided by a variety of local food truck vendors. Folk Art Vendors include: Marie Baron, Melvix, Cynthy Sax, Marci Sednek, Cheryl Thorpe, Susan Tische, Kathleen Schweizer, and Sandra Williams. Musicians/Performers: Goddess of Arno, Animal Opera, David Neil Kinkead, Elena of Indigie Femme, “Lost Tribes of Mardi Gras,” Rogue Bindis and the Circulo Solar Ollin Xochipilli  Aztec Dancers. This event is brought to the public free of charge by OFFCenter Community Arts Project, a 501 (c) 3 arts organization (www.offcenterarts.org,) its donors, volunteers, board members and in part, thanks to sponsorship and funding from the following businesses and organizations: Affordable Solar, Bernalillo County, the FUNd at Albuq. Community Foundation, KUNM, McCune Charitable Foundation, NMArts, PNM, and United Way.
