When people think of yoga, often the first thing that comes to mind is flexibility. In the Iyengar approach to hatha yoga, flexibility is balanced with strength and stability. Good flexibility provides freedom and efficiency in movement, prevention of injuries, a relaxed body,…and the ability to play with more difficult yoga poses!
In this workshop, we will examine some basic anatomy and physiology of muscles and the conditions necessary to maximize safe stretching. We will then explore strategies in yoga asanas to facilitate the relaxation and lengthening of muscles and movements of joints.
This workshop is appropriate for students of all levels and all degrees of flexibility. It is also recommended for yoga teachers who want to deepen their understanding of the body and movement .
COST: $70 for both Sessions $40 for each individual Session
After November 5th: $75 for both Sessions $45 for each individual Session
This workshop qualifies for Yoga Alliance CEU’s.
