Event Description

Los Angeles-based pianist, Alan Pasqua has had an extensive career in pop and rock music, most notably as a founding member, keyboardist and songwriter of the 1980s hard rock band, Giant, as well as a member of the New Tony Wiliams Lifetime, and the Carlos Santana, John Fogerty, and Bob Dylan bands. He also co-composed the CBS Evening News theme. A jazz fusion player who has worked extensively with Allan Holdsworth, his album, Standards, with longtime musical collaborator, drummer Peter Erskine, was nominated for a Grammy. One of New York’s most in demand bassists, Earl Sauls has played with some of the all-time jazz greats such as Stan Getz, and Woody Herman. He currently performs regularly with Joshua Breakstone and Rob Reich. A native New Yorker, drummer, John Trentacosta, brought his collective big band and small group experience to New Mexico in 1992 after two decades as the rhythm force behind NYC jazz notables Chuck Wayne, Jimmy Knepper, and the Al Porcino big band. In 1993, he founded the longstanding NM jazz group Straight Up.
