Event Description
It's the law. Yet the owner of Route 66 Malt Shop is refusing to pay his workers the $3.83 minimum wage that was recently enacted by 60% of ABQ voters.
Instead of paying a basic minimum wage, the owner gave his employees an ultimatum: get paid less than minimum wage or be fired. He admits it is against the law and admits he doesn't care.
When his employees complained, Mayor Berry's city attorney told KOB-tv said that Szeman's ultimatum is illegal but the mayor won't enforce the law.
Stand up for ABQ's minimum wage workers and join the rally that will take place outside of the Route 66 Malt Shop in Nob Hill (on Central, East of Carlisle) tomorrow at 11:30am.
