Love is in the air with Ravel

This month’s Cabaret is an ode to romance, featuring Ravel’s string quartet. The quartet in F major was Ravel’s only string quartet, and remains very popular, although when this early work was first performed in 1904 it was not universally praised. This masterwork has endured much longer than the early critics’ writings, and Ravel himself looked back on it fondly in his later years. Enjoy this month’s Cabaret with your sweetie as a romantic interlude leading up to Valentine’s Day.  As usual, you can enjoy tapas and drinks at this cocktail hour concert at the Hotel Andaluz while listening to great chamber music.

Chatter Cabaret (formerly Club Beethoven) is an afternoon event with music beginning at 5:00 p.m. once a month.  It is held at “Casablanca” in the Hotel Andaluz, 125 Second Street NW, downtown Albuquerque.
