Event Description

ABQCWC Presents a Detective/Mystery Fiction Discussion & Writing Workshop with Robert Kresge, author of Murder for Greenhorns & the forthcoming sequel in the Warbonnet Series, Painted Women.. The writing workshop is presented by the Albuquerque Community Writing Center (ABQCWC), which is associated with the University of New Mexico. It will begin with a brief discussion of Poe’s work and influence, followed by a related writing exercise and workshop and a brief discussion on publishing in the genre, and concluded by a book-signing by the featured author.

  • Discussion of Poe’s influence on American mystery writing & an overview of writing conventions in the genre
  • Exercises on perfecting the elevator pitch & writing query letters
  • Book-signing by featured author Robert Kresge
