Event Description

The Twinkle Light Parade is coming to Nob Hill! Mayor Richard J. Berry and Nob Hill Main Street invite you to celebrate the holidays at the Twinkle Light Parade and Nob Hill Holiday Shop & Stroll, Saturday, December 1^st on Central between Washington St. and Girard Blvd. Enjoy holiday carolers, photos with Santa, and traffic free shopping from noon to midnight. The parade steps off at 5:15 p.m. and heads west on Central Ave. Call 311 or visit cabq.gov for more information.

I love Xmas but must tell you that last year when I was in Santa Fe I saw the strangest thing: there was this lovely Nativity Scene, greatly admired by the citizens, but someone forgot to put their dogs on a leash during a viewing, and one of the dogs went up to this Manager Scene and urinated on... well, I won't say. But that night IT was raining in Bethlehem for sure. Smiles! Hoping that everyone leaves their dogs at home here in Albuquerque!

Comment by FireMedicRN on November 30, 2012 at 1:19pm: The loss of the Twinkle Light parade is just one more blow to Downtown/Old Town by Mayor Berry's administration. While I like Nob Hill, ABQ is big enough to have more than one neighborhood. The Raynolds Addition Neighborhood Association has invited Mayor Berry and the director of Cultural Services to our next meeting on Tuesday, Dec 4 @ 7pm in the Washington Middle School library, 1101 Park Ave SW to explain the reasoning behind moving our beloved parade. My issue isn't so much that they moved the parade, but that there was no discussion about it. All of the neighborhoods downtown and even the Downtown Action Team only found out that the parade was moving by reading the paper or seeing it on the news. Had they askeed us, we might have said: it's a pain in the butt, yeah give it to N.H. (I woundn't have said that), but they didn't even ask us! As residents and business owners, we are stakeholders in what happens in and around Downtown/Old Town. If you have questions or comments for the administration feel free to come to our OPEN TO THE PUBLIC meeting. (P.S. Mayor Berry has not RSVP'd yet, but the Cultural Services director has)
