Event Description

It started over a couple of pints at O’Niell’s early in 2013.  Finland's Vellamo (goddess of the sea) stumbles into the pub and runs headfirst into the Pawn Drive boys. In short order laughter and lofty dialog ensues.  The parched western desert is a world away from Arctic tundra and northern seaport towns, but this month we will see those worlds collide, this time on stage at Tortuga Gallery!

Vellomo's music covers ground from acoustic melancholy to buoyant whimsy, all steeped in Scandinavian folk tradition. Sung in both English and Finnish,  Pia and Joni join together to make delightfully fun music.
