From Africa With Love: Stories of triumph, resilience, hope

Cast members sing, stomp, dance, drum and act to raise awareness about the often overlooked presence, contributions, love and self-determination and plight of the African people in New Mexico.  It also aims to create a wider appreciation of African culture and promote the charity’s music and drama empowerment project.

Since June 2013 From Africa With Love is celebrated annually by immigrants and refugees resettled in Bernalillo not only to highlight refugee resilience but give voice to their stories. It recognizes the need for local communities such as New Mexico to take part in the global effort dedicated to supporting and celebrating the strengths of refugees and immigrants.   Join us to hear their voices and celebrate their stories!

Through dance, drama, art, music, drumming Africans learn to deal with trauma and conflict and to confront stereotypes and other challenges. As African people, especially the children have migrated to New Mexico, their artistic expression of their values and beliefs has helped them to survive many obstacles.

The event is sponsored by the Immigrant And Refugee Resource Village and VSA North Forth Art Center both New Mexico Non Profits with a 501 c (3) status.

General Admission at the door and online at holdmyticket.com
