Event Description

Mandy's Special Farm is holding a yard sale fundraiser with food, snow cones, a jumper for children and music in an event that is fun for the whole family.

WHEN: July 23 from 8 am to 2 pm

WHERE: 2916 Coors Blvd. SW (Budget Rent-a-car Parking lot)

WHY: We were recently denied funding by the state department of health (see the Journal articlehttp://www.abqjournal.com/main/2011/06/24/upfront/state-rains-on-special-farm-in-south-valley.html) We found a way to keep all our residents (women with autism) from having to find a new home, but we still need help to keep some of our valuable services that we share with the community going. Help us keep our garden, farm, orchard and volunteer progras alive!

We are looking for volunteers to help make this event a success! Even just a couple hours of your time could make a difference.

Skills

  • cashier: Experience handling money, totaling prices and giving customers correct change.
  • set up/moving: Experience moving furniture, boxes, and smaller items.
  • Customer Service: Experience with customer satisfaction, experience working with the public, experience working with children and parents.

Requirements

We are looking for volunteers to help with the following tasks:

  • setting up the yard sale items
  • selling food and snow cones
  • cashier
  • attending the children's jumper (setting a time limit and supervising)
  • spreading awareness about Mandy's Special Farm as well as autism
  • having fun!

I could help with tear down and put away in the afternoon or any set up that will be done the afternoon/evening before.  Have to go to work in am so can't help then.  Diane

Diane-- We could definitely use the help on Friday afternoon/evening. We will be organizing, packing up and making signs. If you have time on Friday, please stop by the farm at 346 Clark St SW. Here's a map: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=346+clark+st+sw&um=1&ie=UTF-8...

We will also need help breaking down the event on Saturday from 2-4 pm at 2916 Coors Blvd. SW.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me! katherine (at) mandysfarm (dot) org or 385-0351.

Thanks!
