Israeli choreographer Tamir Ginz will be in Albuquerque, New Mexico this spring as part of an ongoing cultural exchange that involves collaboration, creation, outreach and performance. Ginz is the Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer of KAMEA Dance Company in Be’er Sheva, Israel. Ginz will be in residence at Albuquerque’s Keshet Dance Company March 31-April 11, 2013. Keshet will be presenting a series of events that culminate with a community-wide Yom Ha'atzmaut event celebrating Israeli Independence Day on the evening of Tuesday, April 16th in Albuquerque at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Albuquerque.

Hebrew for “Bridge,” Gesher is an annual event celebrating Israeli Independence Day (Yom Ha’atzmaut) across the state of New Mexico by utilizing the common language of the arts to engage the community. In addition to Ginz’s work, Gesher II will also include Reflections by Vladimir Conde Reche, choreographed as a commentary on his time in Israel and his experience of the determined, focused, inspiring and welcoming culture and community he encountered.
