Cyclists Matt Trujillo was struck by a speeding car on May 12 and died two weeks later from his injuries. Friends and family will gather on July 30, 2011 at 9:00 am to place a ghost bike descanso for him.
The location is Indian School and Washington NE. Please ride your bicycle or if you drive, park on a side street and walk to the site.
A few words will be said to remember Matt's full, but short, life. Flowers will then be placed on the ghost bike. This bike is being placed by the Duke City Wheelmen Foundaiton
La otra guera and I will be in attendance after climbing the hill from Martineztown.
Comment by gleejb on July 28, 2011 at 2:18pm One occupant of a house on that corner, Washington and Indian School, told me that there are crashes there all the time. Traffic is too fast, people run the lights and collisions happen too often. This is an intersection where extra caution is necessary no matter what vehicle we are driving.
