Event Description

Outpost, in conjunction with 516 ARTS’ Heart of The City project, presents Rick Lowe in the Keynote speech for the Heart of the City event. An artist and community activist, Lowe founded Project Row Houses in Houston, Texas, which is a neighborhood-based nonprofit art and cultural organization which serves as “the realization of the social role that art can play in neighborhood revitalization, historic preservation, community service and activism.” Lowe has exhibited and worked with communities nationally and internationally and in 2013 was appointed by President Barack Obama to the National Council on the Arts.
