Event Description

Dancer, choreographer, movement educator, and movement therapist Debra Landau will teach a low-flying trapeze workshop for children and teens, 10 to 15 years of age. No previous dance or acrobatic experience necessary.

The low-flying trapeze is a very mobile trapeze hung from a single point so that the bar and ropes form a triangle. "Low-flying" refers to the bar being within reach of a person standing on the floor, allowing the person to easily get on and off the bar. Beginners can enjoy "flight" in the first lesson, including swings, hangs, and spins below the bar, and mounts and poses on the bar. Those at an intermediate level can venture into partnering. Pre-registration strongly encouraged. A parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver before a minor may participate. Reserve your spot by e-mail or by calling (505)842-9418.
