Event Description

A rare vocal talent, Lucy Kaplansky is “a truly gifted performer...full of enchanting songs” (New York Times). Blending country, folk and pop styles, her iconic voice has been featured in film and television, and she has topped the folk and Americana radio charts. She has contributed her vocals on recordings for Suzanne Vega, Bryan Ferry, Nanci Griffith, and Shawn Colvin, among others, and has released seven of her own solo CDs. She has also been part of folk supergroups Red Horse (with Eliza Gilkyson and John Gorka) and Cry Cry Cry (with Dar Williams and Richard Shindell) and is currently on tour in support of her new album, Reunion, which explores “family history and where we come from.” With her signature pop and country-tinged hooks that have come to define her timeless sound, Reunion is “a tapestry that is, at turns, deeply moving, joyful, meditative, and rollicking, and is the album her fans have been waiting for.” (Red House Records).

$20/$15 Outpost Members & Students. Available on-line at outpostspace.org or in advance by phone or in person at Outpost, 268-0044.
