WATER SCARCITY, SCIENCE AND NEW MEXICO
Increased water-usage across the State has created problems that have severely impacted our eco-system; such as the endangerment of the silvery minnow, increased wildfires, and increased desertification. As the population grows and virtually all climate forecasts anticipate dry conditions, the need to ensure secure water sources is becoming even more crucial.
Come to the NMPBS March Science Café, view a clip of a PBS program, and then join in a discussion with Kenneth Armijo of Sandia National Laboratories. Armijo will discuss exciting innovative solutions and how good water resource management and action by industry, utilities and the greater public can create a lasting, clean and reliable source of water for New Mexico’s future generations.
