The St. John Passion, J.S. Bach's first and less frequently performed Passion, has a sense of expressive immediacy that is one of its most lovable characteristics. The New Mexico Philharmonic and Polyphony: Voices of New New Mexico will be conducted by Maxine Thévenot, along with a group of outstanding young soloists -- Paula Corbin Swalin, soprano, Patrick Fennig, countertenor, Lawrence Jones, tenor, Christopher Hubert, baritone, and Edmund Connolly, baritone-bass. Steven Wilson will perform the role of Evangelist.
