Event Description

Spend a thrilling evening with the NM Phil!  Hear Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto performed by Rachel Barton Pine, plus Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 and Wagner's Overture to Tannhauser conducted by Robert Tweten.

Chicago violinist Rachel Barton Pine was a child prodigy who started playing at age 3 and a half. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras around the world under conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta and Placido Domingo.  She has also appeared with Daniel Barenboim, Chtistopj Eschenbach and William Warfield.  

Santa Fe-based conductor Robert Tweten has been associated with several opera companies including the Canadian Opera Company, Houston Grand Opera, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.  Pre-concert lecture by Mr. Tweten at 5:00 p.m.
