Attend the world premiere of From a Distant Mesa for Tenor and Orchestra celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Southwest. Emmy-award winning composer Daniel Steven Crafts sets to music the words of Rudolfo Anaya, New Mexico's most acclaimed writer (the author of Bless Me, Ultima). Tenor Brian Cheney is the protégé of the late Jerry Hadley, for whom this work was written. This concert also includes Dvorak's Symphony No. 7 conducted by Christopher Confessore, the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne, Florida, and the Principal Pops Conductor of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
