n this concert, La Lupi faces a retorno (a return) as well as a reto (a challange).
El Reto is the combination of a lifetime of work and a look at the past, a nod to the bailes of yesteryear; to flamenco done on front porches among neighbors. La Lupi emulates this age-old style of dancing in search of the beauty of minimalism and for the mastery of finely executed flamenco. Looking back at the most deeply rooted folklore and the most time-honored flamenco movement, La Lupi pays homage to the bata de cola, the mantón, and to baile with the sombrero Cordobés, while staying true to her own personal style developed over many years.
La Lupi, once again, undertakes a journey down a new path, collecting long-established traditions of dance and combining them with a flamenco that is new and fresh.
"At this time, a need to RETURN so I can continue to move forward." -La Lupi
