Event Description

This is a safe and mindful class for those who feel as though they have lost "touch" with their bodies and are wishing to reconnect. When we face the most difficult of human experiences - grief, fear, tragedy, illness, lonliness - it is common to lose awareness and sensitivity in our physical beings. The result of this is often a sense of numbness, both physically and emotionally. This class is designed to provide gentle exploration to reawaken body and spirit. Additionally, we will be working with movements and poses designed to regulate the nervous system so that we are able to feel more alive, happy, content and grounded both on and off the yoga mat. The class is appropriate for both beginning and advanced students. Taught by Heather Kazda, LISW and RYT 500. Heather is a trained psychotherapist who works as a social worker with students and families in Albuquerque Public Schools. She has been practicing yoga for 14 years and has been teaching for six. She specializes in utilizing somatic therapy and yoga to help others experience more peace, joy and meaning in daily life.

Dear Heather Kazda,  It appears I am the only person registered for the class this evening.  I have been unable to determine the cost for thie program, but,  since I am physically disabled, I can not sit on the floor or perform any of the moves I used to do.  Regardless, this class sounded interesting its mind-body connection approach to healing.

Please forgive the tardiness of this message.  I had written it early this morning, yet became distracted from sending it.  If you are going to hold another comparable Meetup, would you please inform me as to the charge for it and if a sedentary person might benefit from you teachings.

I have been searching for a psychologist or social worker such as you.  If you practice on the side and accept insurance from BC/BS and Medicare,  perhaps we can be of assistance to one another (or if you know of  therapist who also has your basis as a belief system),   I became incredibly balanced via mediation and the path of Buddhism.  My e-mail is vivanm2000@comcast.net.  Please let me know if you envision any connections.  Thank you for your time today.  I pray it was fruitful.  Warm regards, Florence

Hi Florence,

The cost for this class is $95 for 8 sessions. Heather is also teaching another class starting on March 19 which is the same $95 price and can be found at http://bit.ly/WszvSA. For more details about this instructor and the class requirements, call the program director Marie McGhee at 505-277-6320. Our instructors do not actually read these messages, but I hope this information helps. Have a great day!
