Are there any decent AYCE sushi joints in the Burque/RR metro area? I have been to Korean BBQ & Sushi on Central in Nob Hill and Sushi Gen on San Mateo. Both were decent, but I had a few problems with both. The former had a rather rude "eccentric" person that could not stop calling people 'stupid'. Add to that, the AYCE isn't really AYCE, as I could only order 2 rounds of sushi.

For the latter, it was truly AYCE, however the sushi (rice) they served was the size of a softball. And they required you to eat everything on the plate. Don't know what the punishment for disobeying that command is, but I truly get tired of restaurants that make a customer feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Any other suggestions? TIA.

Evergreen Restaurant on Menaul at Juan Tabo. Its an Asian buffet, with an area for sushi.

My daughter and I ate there last Friday and both of us got sick afterwards. And the food was awful. YMMV

All you can eat sushi is just generally a bad concept in my opinion and it seems like only restaurants with mediocre sashimi do this anyway.

Perhaps around here, but in other parts of the country you can find excellent all you can eat sushi restaurants (also way cheaper than the Korean BBQ).

I'll concede on that fact, my sushi experience is limited outside of the burque and Hawaii..

I would have to agree. Real HIGH quality fresh fish doesn't come cheap this far from the ocean, even if they claim to fly it in daily, and I just don't think I would want to eat AYCE sushi. I've had real high quality sushi in California and Seattle and you just can't find that kind of quality here. Japanese Kitchen manages to serve as much as I care to eat on a single platter for what I think is a pretty decent price.

IMHO the service and food as Sushi Gen is heads and shoulders above the place in nob hill for AYCE.

As for Sushi in general, I've been going to Japanese Kitchen for 25 years, and go there once a week on average (work basically upstairs from there). Ichiban near corrales is also very very good.
