My wife dreams of the really thick chocolate milk like drink she had while in Spain 14 years ago.

Since it is her birthday next week as well as mother's day I thought I would seek out some good chocolate and try to recreate that Spanish Chocolate drink.

Any suggestions on a place that carries good chocolate or is similar to Kakawa?

Also, anyone have a good recipe for said Spanish Chocolate drink?

Ask at Whitings Coffee Company on Osuna.  They have a pretty good chocolate selection.

Mhm my mother loves to make Spanish Chocolate drinks. It is one of her best recipes and she always makes it for me when she knows I come home to visit her. She likes to make it with melted dark chocolates. She says melting the dark chocolate by yourself makes the taste more intense and better.

I don't do a Spanish Chocolate drink, but you can find a selection of wonderful Choco Canyon chocolates I make at both La Montanita Co-ops and Bookworks. (Please pardon the shamless self promotion ;^)

Choco Canyon Chocolates are superb!  I got to sample them at the Nob Hill Growers' Market this fall.
