Ok, here is the deal, I know that morning radio programs usually are pretty soft and in general they can suck. But Bob Clark brings a whole new level of boring to the table. Half the problem is that when he took over for Larry - they kept everything the same. I swear sometimes I feel like Bob is just working off of old shows that Larry put on. Maybe I am one of the only ones that feel this way, but I could do without the 10 minute long Rich Ford segment, and the Edward Jones "we'll sell you stocks and bonds" corner. The whole morning show is a rolling commercial with the Huckabee report stuffed in the middle. Its lame and I don't listen to it anymore - I prefer Imus. But it would be cool if ABQ had a decent local morning program on the air. Just sayin'

Ugh! I hear you. While Larry and Pat were running the show I would only switch or mute during the ridiculous 'Rich Ford' segment. The news segments are also so boring and full of old news being simply read over and over. It finally got so boring that I switched to IMUS. Villanucci does such a great job in the afternoons. I only wish they had a fresher format for the mornings.
Nice, well at least I am not the only one. Geez, the other problem is Bob tries to banter back and forth with his producer, and it just does not work very well. Its one of those deals where he will try to tell a story, but the story is just not interesting. There is a point where as a public personality you realize you really are not interesting. Thats when it is time to start reading books and news from other sources so you have something to talk about of interest.
I quit listening to Bob and now just listen to 610 on the ride to work in the AM.
I have been listening to him and giving him chances for the last 2 years. Give me a break, since when does a person not have a right to point out when something is substandard? I have laid out the reasons I think Bob Clark and his morning show are boring and lame. Its not personal, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but that is not what I am commenting on. I dare others to accept your challenge and report back. I think you'll find that many people agree with me. In addition, is it really a bad thing to want a better on air product? Just because we live in Albuquerque does not mean we should settle of sub par radio.
My point is simple: Why should we have to settle for a sub par morning program? You keep making excuses for him and asking the listeners to alter their habits to compensate for his boring and lazy delivery. Well I say that is ridiculous - I don't have to listen to him or his sponsors and neither does anyone else.
Well, it IS KKKOB.
Bob was cool when he was a sports reporter. He's also pretty nice when you see him around town. I gave his show a chance for a couple of years before I just couldn't listen anymore. I even emailed him and Pat some constructive criticism, but they seemed to think that losing one listener isn't such a big deal. They got their chance, but their format is just very boring and not very modern. I even boycott Rich Ford because I couldn't stand their advertising on KKOB, lol.
At least he's nice, Villanuci is kind of an A$$
Well Villanuci is at least entertaining. Of course, there is a big difference between a late afternoon talk show and a morning program. Generally, they try to avoid controversial topics in the AM. Half of BC's problem is that the format of the show is boring and he takes a lazy man approach to the topics he discusses on the program. If you watched the news the night before, and opened up Yahoo while at work the previous day you can pretty much bet Bob will try one of those used topics on for size.

This is not an attack on Bob Clark as a person I want that to be clear.
I meant in person. He's fine on-air.
Oh, is he still on? I'd much rather be listening to the Stephanie Miller show on 1350. It would be nice to have a local talk show that talks about local issues without being so danged biased from the conservative side. And don't give me that argument that they counter the liberal slanted media, because we don't have any good media covering local issues---except Duke City Fix!
I've listened to Steph Miller a time or two. She's kind of like a mirrored version of Rush Limbaugh.
