Multimedia Visual & Performance Art Showcase Celebrates Black Culture in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, New Mexico USA – October 15, 2016 – It’s exclusively inclusive! Burque Noir: Vol. 2 is the second installation of one of the most compelling evenings of entertainment Albuquerque has ever seen! Burque Noir produces a brilliant multi-media experience of arts and entertainment as delivered by a vast array of Black artists and performers in Albuquerque, NM on one night. Ours is a gathering of intersectional community members who come to engage hearts, minds and senses in celebration and revelry for Black culture.

The event will be held on Saturday October 15, 2016 inside South Broadway Cultural Center located at 1025 Broadway Blvd SE. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Show runs 7:00 - 10:00 pm. Tickets available at Reserved tickets $15 VIP Tickets $25 (Preferred seating, VIP gift bag, early bird marketplace preview, drink ticket). All black attire recommended.

Burque Noir: Vol. 2 seeks to break creative barriers to champion the intersectional art of black people.

The organizers of Burque Noir intend to fill a void in our city's collective attention to contemporary issues surrounding race relations in America by hosting a soiree to celebrate black artists creating in Albuquerque and surrounding cities.

This event combines Dance, Live Music, Poetry, and Visual Art in a relaxed Albuquerque venue with a theme: Black. Black artists will be asked to present work that celebrates, exalts, informs, challenges and reveres their individual expression and the collective connection to a very specific cultural and socio-economic agenda.

Visual artists will live paint original works. Attendees are encouraged to wear black. Artists and Black Burquenos can network and identify areas of opportunity for partnership. Non-black Burquenos will benefit from the same opportunities.

Burque Noir is a curatorial collaboration between Ebony Isis Booth and Jennifer DePaolo.
