There are several old threads on DCF regarding this subject, but not a lot of recent feedback. I'm looking for a good mechanic to do work on an older car (05 Impala).

I've read good and bad reviews for Jim's Automotive, so I'm not sold. Anyone care to comment on Jim's or their favorite shop?

I've had a good relationship with C&S Auto for many years and 3 cars.  They are on Lomas and Monroe. (255-8801)  Very reasonable rates and honest.  

Trang's Automotive on Alcazar does great work, very honest and affordable.

I've had reasonably-priced work done by Brown's Automotive on North 4th and Los Ranchos Rd on an old Subaru. 

The nice people at Northeast Auto Electric on Lomas and Morningside (almost) are honest and good with older cars.

I love Etheridge on Montgomery & San Pedro!
