So as I was bringing firewood for my fireplace I realized I will not have enough for the season.  Any suggestions on where to buy seasoned hardwood?  Delivered and stacked, would prefer 1/2 a cord but if the dealer is good I would consider a full cord.

I'm always happy with these guys:

A-1 Landscaping & Firewood

3134 Bridge Boulevard Southwest, Albuquerque, NM 87121-3333

Tel:‎ 242-8181

I've used them once a year for the past several years and the delivery, quality and price are all very good.‎

I recommend A-1 Firewood at Bridge and Old Coors.  They will deliver but dont think they will stack it for you.  It is better if you go with a pick up because you can load it yourself, you'll get more for the $ and you can pick to get pinon  and juniper and avoid the pine.

Another fan of A-1 Firewood. They delivered when promised and will stack it for you for a fee.

Lots of firewood vendors can be found on Craigslist which is where I have found sources the last two years (many will deliver and stack as well). Be careful, though, in how amounts are calculated. Some sell by the cord (or 1/2 or some fraction) while others go by pickup truck bed or pallet. What seems like a really good deal may not be upon closer inspection. I find for most vendors, though, that the going rate is more or less the same across the board. The other variable, of course, is the type of wood. Pine is going to burn more quickly than most hardwoods, for example.

The Forest Service opens up sections of public lands each year for permits to collect downed trees for firewood and this is where a lot of craigslist vendors get their wood. Its actually a good arrangement - these folks collect downed trees and reduce the fuel load in forested areas and the material goes to residents like us for heating fuel.

God luck.
