I am asking anyone who might have some old leftover Halloween items in good shape for donations for a community event. This event will be free to the public and a lot of fun for all ages. We especially need black lights, jack-o-lantern lamps or statues, and or any vaporizers/steamers/fogger makers. If you have some old Halloween items you're not using, please contact me by text 505-712-14-seven-five or respond by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
So, tell us about the event....
Thanks for getting back to me!
Basically the event is a Halloween themed poetry reading and spoken word night. It’s all ages, and free, so we’re inviting people from the community to come out and hear (or share) some poetry or music, followed by a poetry slam. We have a youth poet named Matt Brown who was on the ABQ City UNIDOS youth team that took fourth in the world at the national event and he is featuring and then we have some surprises for the audience…
it’s intended to be a safe, and silly celebration of the holiday so we’re going to have a flash mob of monsters dancing to Thriller and the Cupid Shuffle, some “screaming” surprises and such. Kind of part haunted house, part performance. And we need some black lights, glow sticks, foggers, just stuff to help us make the place feel creepy and fun.
It’s for the whole community and like I said it’s free so we don’t really have the budget for everything we hope to be able to do…but it’s going to be super fun!
