Impropriety Abounds with Darren White's Rescue of Wife

Darren White continues to overstep this reach and abuse his power as Chief Safety Officer over the rescue of his wife following a single car accident last week  This latest incident continues to put Mayor Berry at political risk and due to his lack of visibility during this fiasco, almost complicit in a cover up of White's actions.  All the mayor did was ask for an investigation.  Why did he wait so long?  Surely he had to know about this almost as soon as it happened.  Chief Shultz attempted to justify White's actions and take the responding police officers off the hook for not performing a field sobriety test when they had cause.  Why was the police report only filed yesterday and not the day of or day after the accident?  Isn't this a violation of police policy?  All this speaks of gross impropriety from three of our top public officials.

I am not the biggest fan of Darren White, but I am not sure this incident reeks of corruption or special favors.  It's hard to say whether the police would have done a field sobriety test in another circumstance or not.  A lot of that is the discretion of the officer--which I would argue is not the greatest thing, but there you go.  However blood tests showed that she wasn't under the influence, so what was covered up?  Nothing as far as I can see.  I also don't find it odd that he went to the scene.  Husbands do that for wives and vice-versa.
Well, I think if it was you or I "swaying" after an accident, we would surely be given a field sobriety test.  The coverup is the length of time it has taken for this story to be told.  Why didn't he make a statement after the incident to explain his motives.  This would have been more acceptable and appear to be more transparent.  Would you or I have been able to transport our wife/husband, son or daughter to the doctor/hospital after an accident?  I really don't think so.  This is where the abuse of power comes to play.
the incident k is referencing can be read about here.  in a further update, white says his wife had a seizure and they will be releasing her medical records.

Goddamn but you've got it out for Darren White.  It seems just about anything you post on DCF has to do with his "corruption" and "abuse of power."

Come clean, K.  Why the constant hatchet job act?  Did he push you around in high school?  Steal your prom date?

Your posts are consistently over-the-top hyperbole, and either you aren't very good at persuasive writing, or you have a personal vendetta against Darren White, APD and the BCSO.  So what is it?  Why the inflated sense of righteous indignation?

Benny, White is just incompetent, that's the bottom line.  He's all hot air and a media wonk. Always blaming other's who are just picking on him for political gain.  Would you or I be permitted to take our wife, daughter, or son from a scene of an accident and drive her to the hospital.  I think not.  It amazes me that you can't see any impropriety in his actions.
Yes. Yes, you would. You can decline transport (I have, because I did not have health insurance to pay for an ambulance once when I was hit on my bike) and have someone else drive you. Mommy drove me to the ER.
LaGuera, I stand corrected on the transport issue, but my understanding was that he took her before paramedics arrived and before the officers could conduct a field sobriety test. If the paramedics could have checked her out and made the recommendation that she should go to the hospital, then the "husband" could have declined the offer and take her himself. Or, does anyone else have more concrete info on this concerning the accident?

"Would you or I be permitted to take our wife, daughter, or son from a scene of an accident and drive her to the hospital"

Yes; you can decline care.  Nothing stopping you from heading to the ER after declining care from the Fire Department or other agency.

ramon t, I guess my question is did she or "the husband" decline care?  Were paramedics at the scene?  I assume they were but dont know for sure. Was she checked out by paramedics at the scene?  We know from the "husdand" that he felt his wife needed medical care.  Did the paramedics feel the same way?   Also, she did not receive a field sobriety test by the attending officers when it appears they could have administered one to her.
Yes.  I've done it for my wife.

is that baby Granjero??  So cutie!  and congratulations!
