What's going on, Albuquerque?

Juice fast

I looking to start a juice fast, Im still new to abq so I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on where to find best priced, fresh produce around the albuquerque area. Also is there anyone on here who had tried juice fasting.? Ive got a friend in washington state but id like to find a friend around town that has either tried a juice fast or is interested in starting one with me. Grateful for any advice, thanks in advance. :-)

AJ. I would check out Pros Market on Central and Atrisco.
Their produce is usually the best and most economical in town. They were my to place in the summer when I would add juicing to my diet. Good luck on the fast. What is your main objective with the fast? De-tox?

Thanks so much for the suggestion ill def try that. Ive decided to do the fast as a commitment to myself, ive never really been a healthy person. I just never realized how bad it had gotten untill recently. I need a change, i need to treat myself better and one step im going to take is committing to a juice fast and implementing healthier choices throughout the process. They say you can accomplish anything u put ur mind too this will be the true test.

Fantastic. You'll do great since you have already established the mindset needed. Just some advice if I may. Depending how long you fast, you'll need to keep up with protein intake especially this time of year. During a juice fast, protein intake usually drops significantly and the first body system to suffer is the immune system. Just keep that in mind so that you can stay healthy during your fast and after.

I started juicing last year and it's been great! I watched the movie "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and that kinda set me on the juicing path. Their website is pretty helpful (http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/), lots of recipes to try and an online community (but I'm with you on wanting an actual person to do things with.) I'm not a local (yet!) but I'm happy to offer any advice I can! Not an expert or anything, but I own a juicer and use it frequently :-D
