I plan on voting this evening but I can tell you that a good part of my ballot will be empty. There is just too much of the "same old same old" on the ballot.

Have you read the Voter Guide that the local League of Women Voters puts out?  You are being asked to vote for judges and representatives at various levels of government.  There are many new candidates for the Legislature and Congress in New Mexico this year.  Whether you vote or not, one in each race will be making our laws and public budgets.  Don't you want a hand in which ones they are? 

There are also Bond Issues (mostly to replace expiring ones), State Constitutional Amendments, (and raising the Minimum Wage if you live in Albuquerque) on your ballot  I hope you can make informed choices about them.  You can see a sample ballot for your district at Bernalillo County's website:

Michelle. Yes, I picked up my guide a couple of weeks ago. There will definitely be items on the ballot that I will not vote on because neither choice reflects my preference. I wish the ballot had a "none of the above" that voters could check and that those numbers wold be reported so that a true view of how the population votes is recorded.
