Went by there weekend before last and there was a note that said "Closed Temporarily for Renovation."  Then I heard through a friend that Joe P., the owner of Mimmo, is no longer operating the business and the owner of the building is looking for another operator.

Truth or Fiction?

I truly hope not.  It's my favorite place, but I've not been drinking coffee for the past bit, so I'm out of the loop.  Hope someone has some insights.

I haven't spoken directly to Joe yet, but my husband frequents Mimmo's and several of the coffee shops around Nob Hill...he said Joe is going mobile. Getting a truck and fixing it up to do coffee at Morningside Park and other locales. Don't know how long it might take for him to be up and running.

Thanks, Karla, for the info.  A food truck would likely suit Joe's lifestyle better--he doesn't seem to fit into the brick and mortar mold.
