During the early morning hours ( 1 - 2 AM ) of Friday February 25th, 2011 a vehicle turned off Morningside headed East against the one way direction of Silver took out the stop / street sign, crossed Silver onto the sidewalk, struct a parked car, taking out several sections of 6 foot fence, wooden patio; and landing in the yard of one of the condominium units.
We have no further details other than as of 7:30 this morning the street and side walk have not been cleared of debris by the City. The stop / street sign remain on the side walk.
Use caution if you are biking or driving in this area.

Permalink Reply by once banned twice shy on February 25, 2011 at 9:51am Hmmm....my investigation leads me to conclude the individuals involved were a) drunk and b) speeding. It's jacked-up, that much is certain.
If you want the city to clean this up, call 311.

Oops, did I blow my cover?
Permalink Reply by Nobhill Resident on February 25, 2011 at 6:25pm The change to one way for that segment, as far as signage, was in the last several months. During the last big bash in NobHill there was a constant flow though the cement barriers restricting flow only East bound when Central was closed by people trying to avoid the Central closure. Traffic was also flowing down the alley until it reached the block off portion at the Premiere Motel. The Detour was to Lead at Aliso from Silver. Somewhere there is some video of that specific problem.
The barriers themselves have been there for some time. I have to disagree with the comment that the "less-than-salutary activities (drug use/sales & prostitution, mostly)" are no longer a problem. A constant flow of "traffic" of all sorts continues in the area 24/7, not counting the people "drinking", "collecting" from the dumpsters, doing the dirty, or shooting up.
