This is an old thread, but the Roma Cafe downtown in the Hyatt hallway between the hotel and the office tower has Pastrami as its special every Thursday. It's piled high with lean pastrami, good mustard, relatively good rye bread (probably not jewish) and I think it's delicious. Much better quality than that California pastrami place and the folks that run Roma Cafe are very very nice. It's a great little place all the way around.
Good to know this. I go to Roma often for lunch but must have never gone on a Thursday because I surely would have ordered the Pastrami.
Have you been to the new Jewish deli in Nob Hill? See my thread about it...pastrami on rye beckons...
Its a little outside the Doowntown/UNM/Nob Hill area, but you might want to try Tully's Italian Deli & Meats, 1425 San Mateo NE · Albuquerque, NM 87110, (505) 255-5370 · Mon-Fri 9a-5:30p, Sat 9a-5p. Parking is convenient.
