Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is holding a benefit concert headlined by country music star Chris Young tomorrow, May 6, 7:30 p.m. at Sandia Resort and Casino Amphitheater. We would invite everyone on DCF to come to the concert.

This is more than just a concert. Last year, we touched nearly 10,000 lives through our programs and services around New Mexico, 4,876 of those in Albuquerque alone. Proceeds from the concert will help make the following possible:

• Training centers where job seekers can get computer access free of charge.
• Pathways programs helping the homeless and near-homeless secure housing and employment.
• Mentoring for at-risk youth.
• Crisis case management services for persons with a traumatic brain injury.
• An employment and training program for workers over age 55.
• Employment for persons with a disability.
• Community employment programs helping people find and maintain jobs around the community.
• …and more.

We are very fortunate to have snagged a great new talent like Chris Young to come and play for us, and we are grateful to him for coming here to support us. Chris was just nominated for his first Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance with “Gettin’ You Home,” and there are more hits moving up the charts right now.
