What's going on, Albuquerque?

Welcome to Albuquerque

Do you think Albuquerque should have a much more elaborate welcome sign. I have a friend who lives in LA and is a truck driver. He drives almost 100% of the time through Albuquerque and says he "can't even see the sign for Albuquerque". This is just an idea of what we could have. There are many ideas that some of my neighbors have thrown out there as well. What do you think?

Sure, why not. My kids love those kinds of signs and start to cheer whenever they see that we've crossed a border while traveling. I don't think it would make or break the image of the city, but if done nicely, it could be something memorable for people driving through or visiting.

Yes and it should say "we invented the train!" lol. It should be a picture of ABQ's harsh reality and quirkiness.

It should say "Turn left here." and have a picture of Bugs Bunny.

Well i believe that we should have a city wide contest in which we come up with designs on a sign for the people coming into the city. It would be a way of getting people involved with the tourism in the city. It would make us look involved as a whole within the city.
