For reasons too complicated to go into, I'm going to have to board the pooch in a few weeks. Where do you board your pets when you have to board them as opposed to getting a sitter?

Another vote for CCC; they are expensive, but our 2 dogs have always come home in good condition.

enchantment pet resort over in rio rancho
This place is actually in an inconvenient location for us. But the people there are great... the kennel doesn't actually smell like a kennel and it sounds dorky...but it is the only place we have ever taken our dog where she trots along with the girl who comes to take her back to the kennel as opposed to trying to claw her way back to us (which is gut wrenching for a couple with no kids and only their dog :)
dorky.. but what can I say.. I trust them with my dog.. and THAT'S saying something.
Seems their website is broken today ? but they also have a pet pool (i couldn't make that up), training and yes even dog day care (I promise I've never used that)

Academy Boarding Kennels, just north of Uncle Cliff's, has taken care of our dogs on a number of occasions. They are not as expensive as some of the country club/day camp options, and we've been satisfied with their service. They're also pretty close to us, so that's something we appreciate. No problems with meds or playing options and they have a grooming facility on site. Getting back a nice clean dog is great.

I second Enchantment Pet Resort but understand that it's incredibly inconvenient for anyone not living in Rio Ratho...Uh, Rio Rancho. They've been constructing a small wading pond for quite a while and I don't know if it's completed yet or not. But the thing is, they have a really large outdoor play area and dogs get regular time out of doors.

I've used petco, not for a dog, but for the Cat. They had a play area for the pups and have a provision for personel care. I'll be taking the cat next month they have report cards also and they are cute, when I had a dog I used CCC and she seemed to be a happy pup when we picked her up

I board my dogs with a friend who is a professional dog trainer. His name is Duane Burnie Also known as "Dizzy". I don't know how many he boards at on time. I can call

Hi Sophie,
I highly recommend Canine Country Club--no other kennels in Albuq. compare, imho. Good luck. I always miss my pooch so much when I have to leave Albuq. w/o her.
