Where was Mayor Berry during the Albuquerque Pride Parade?

After watching the fabulous Albuquerque Pride Parade yesterday, I wondered where was Mayor Berry???  I was very disappointed to find that he did not participate.  Was he invited to march or did he decline and if so why.  Anyone know?

Last week, my wife and I were in Salt Lake City, and we had the opportunity to attend the Pride Parade there.  It was great and they had a big turnout. We were surprised to see both the Mayor of Salt Lake City and the County Mayor march in the parade.  We were impressed, especially as the state is quite conservative, although SLC is the bastion of liberalism there.  It made me think about Mayor Berry's lack of attendance in our parade.  It was good to see Ray Garduno of the City Council and Kathy Stebbens from the county in attendance.

Kudos to Scalo's restaurant for hosting the Pancake Breakfast as a fund raiser for NMAS.  We had a great time with some great pancakes. By the way, these are the best parades ever!  So . . . if you havent been to one make sure you attend next year.  And that means you too, Mr. Mayor.

Instead of speculating and getting yourself all worked up, maybe you should call the Mayor's office and just ask?
I don't think k is worked up, just asking whether the mayor was invited or not and why he didn't participate. in years past, mayor chavez was always a visible supporter of the various pride parade events. it seems reasonable to wonder about berry.
One phone call.  All it takes.
sure, but then we don't get to have a fun community conversation about our mayor!

Agreed! I suspect that was the poster's intent as well...

Chavez was there because he knew there would be cameras there.
ha!
i was hoping for a tejana susana lookalike contest, myself. now that would be cool. i enjoyed the parade, wasn't surprised the mayor stayed home. he knows who his constituency is. my favorite float was the pirate bus. HA! next year they should have a mannequin of mayor dick berry walking the plank?

Okay. I am TOTALLY voting Dog's comment for the City of Albuquerque's new slogan.

Have a question for the Mayor? Need a permit? Looking for concise, accurate information? ....

"One Phone Call. All It Takes."

Who should we get to do the voice-over? NPH? Sheen? I know... Sam Elliot.

I vote NPH, but just because I think he's awesome.

That would be a great slogan.

How 'bout "Feel the love"

one phone call and a envelope full of unmarked bills...
