More out of towners and their request's. This time its not margaritas or a nice patio, its sopapillas!
Its not really my thing so I dont pay attention(my thing is cheese enchiladas w/red) People feel strongly about these different NM foods so I need to get some feedback from the DCF community.

Si Senorita! If I can figure out how
I like the sopas at Charlie's Front and Back Doors.
I second that one. Mary and Titos on 4th street is pretty good as well.
Los Cuates used to be great... but that was before they were bought out. I can't imagine they suck now, but I can't vouch.
On a side note, I was shocked to learn, when I bought a jar of Los Cuates salsa, that it has both beef and chicken stock in it! If there's one thing you expect to be vegetarian, it's freaking salsa!
No one buys them. They have to be cooked, and thats where you separate the men from the boys. I think you are referring to tortillas??? Not sure.
yeah no kidding. we used to have some serious fights in the kitchen between my dad and my older brother about cooking those buggers. they'd each have a ladle and be all hunched over the pot of bubbling lard threatening each other over how to do it properly.
bubbling lard? OK your on the man side of sopas
overheard at el patio a couple of months ago:
janet napolitano: "what did you think of the green chile and the sopapillas?"
very healthy looking secret service guy: "didn't eat the sopapilla."
janet: "what? why not?"
guy: "dude - it's FRIED BREAD!"
Exactly! Thats why it's so good.
Are you telling me that The Secretary of Homeland Security's Secret Service Man calls her "Dude"?

Is that kind of protocol only suitable if your Secretary is a (un)confirmed lesbian?

Jeesh, formality, rank and respect have fallen so far in America.
they were (to me) clearly having fun teasing each other.
