I need a Golden Retriever puppy, I live in Zuni mountains with fenced yard and good dog house...I had a wonderful golden lost to cancer and miss the companionship of this very special breed, I would travel a great distance for one....I am good with this breed, afraid to fail with others so if you know of one available....I am interested....some too far away are in ads but I cannot afford some of the prices. Thank you.

Hey everyone! If you haven't yet found a four-legged companion, or want to add to your furry family, Animal Humane New Mexico is gearing up for a 56 hour adopt-a-thon! Camp Adopt-a-pet is going to be a really fun event where the staff and volunteers will stay up for 56 hours straight to try and find loving homes for 125 homeless companion animals.

Hi everyone! I'm here to today to put a plug in for all animal lovers who are looking for the best places in ABQ to hang out with their best friends. Paws, Up, Albuquerque! is a new review site "written" by a dog (along with some guest posts by her friends, a cat and a horse!) about all of the places you can go with your four-legged friend, as well as the best places to shop, events to attend, and more! We are just starting up, but I hope that everyone is entertained by the reviews, and any suggestions about places to visit are more than welcome! I'm also thinking about doing a weekly spotlight for animals that are up for adoption, so if anyone has any suggestions about current animals that are in need of either a forever home or a foster home, please let me know! Thanks. :)

I  finally got  myself  a  dog  in  August  2010.  He  is  a  purebred Toy Poodle  named  Marley  by  the  breeder,  and  I  gave  him  the  middle name of Duke  after  Duke  City.    When  I  got him  he  was  a  beautiful  bright Golden Apricot  color,  and  later  changed  to  a  light  apricot  blonde white  combo. Never expected  a  color  change.  He  is  now 2  years  old,  and  we  love him  dearly.  This  is  our  first  indoor  dog,  I  always had  cats  before,  so we  are learning  new  things  all the  time. I'm not  sure  who's  training  whom,  but  he  sure is INCREDIBLY smart !

Hello, saw this from an article which New Mexico Dogs Deserve Better posted on their facebook page and I've copied here to get more voices out there from the dog community:

URGENT CALL TO ACTION!!! Senator Sue Wilson Beffort of District 19, Bernalillo, is planning to ask the Governor to introduce the attached draft legislation in the upcoming January session. It will invoke a "Dangerous Dog" law wherein the definition of a "dangerous dog" includes "a pit bull" and

"pit bull" means a dog that is an American pit bull terrier, an American Staffordshire terrier or a St...affordshire bull terrier or a dog displaying the majority of physical traits of any one or more of those breeds or exhibiting distinguishing characteristics that substantially conform to the standards established by the American kennel club or the united kennel club for any of those breeds;

provided that "pit bull" does not include a dog that is registered with the American kennel club or the united kennel club as a purebred American pit bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier or Staffordshire bull terrier;.

Fortunately, the proposed legislation does not go so far as to ban the pit bull, but defining the dog as "dangerous" is likely a first step in that direction and very...misguided (lots of other words come to mind, but I'll be polite).

I contacted Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for their guidance on how to stop this unfair branding of such wonderful breeds of animals. Ledy VanKavage, their senior lawyer and biggest pit bull advocate, told me "you need to get as many New Mexico folks as possible to call her office asap". She then called a Capitol reporter and told him that Best Friends opposes this draft legislation (yay!).

So what are we asking you to do?

CALL and/or WRITE Senator Beffort and tell her you oppose this legislation! Please don't think that others will do it..every phone call or email is counted and weighs heavily.

SHARE this email with others who care about breed discrimination and ask them to also write and call. Now is the time to have our voices heard BEFORE it goes to the Capitol. Post this info online so that the outer corners of New Mexico are also aware of this impending peril to pitties.

That is so cute that she steals your socks, my eats them. He will be three in January my father in law who is a vet, said he would settle down a bit more. Uugh I don't know he is pretty bouncy
