We would like to add a few ladies to our flock and I'm hoping that I can have them hatch in time for my little girl's birthday. That means I need an incubator and eggs by this week end! Anybody have a small incubator with an automatic turner available for sale? Anyone know where I can buy a new one locally?
I am also wondering where in town I might buy some hatching eggs (up to a dozen or so). I would love to try hatching some araucana americauna or marans eggs if possible (trying to complete my egg rainbow). But I would hatch anything that can hang in a mixed flock at this point.
Unfortunately my first attempt at hatching eggs purchased through the mail failed miserably after my broody decided she wasn't broody anymore the day before they arrived and my pitiful last minute attempt at a cheap homemade incubator didn't work out.... Hoping to improve my chances with a proper incubator and local eggs this time.
I have a Little Giant still air incubator that I converted into a circulated air and an egg turner. All together the cost was $124 plus tax. I've only used it once (and successfully, I have the pullets in our coop to prove it!). It's very clean and in brand-new condition. I'd be happy to sell all three for $75.
Sold! I added you as a friend so you can message me and let me know where and when I can find you. I'm available day or evening so just send me a time and place. Thanks!
I found this farm in Belen.
I posted about fertile eggs too, then I found yours!
I have a little grey hen who's setting.
My granddaughter is very interested.
good luck on the hatching!
Try ebay. I got one there at a good deal a couple of years ago.
You should consider checking out some of the stops on this Weekend's COOP TOUR > they have Chickens > they may well have eggs!
Then there's the New Mexico Poultry Swap held in Edgewood on the Last Saturday of each Month - they have a very active Facebook page (that you need to request access to)!
If you ever need any eggs for incubating let me know. I'm the owner of the farm in Belen that Erik Stout mentioned. Thank you Erik! We sell hundreds of carefully selected and inspected eggs to people all over the country. We have a 6 egg min. Thank you, Wilber.
