Permalink Reply by Jud Lewis-Mahon on November 10, 2011 at 6:29pm we had an issue with an egg bound chicken and we tried 2 approaches. warm bath and (i know this sounds gross) applying vaseline to the inside of the chicken's vent. i recommend rubber gloves. you need to be careful to not break the egg inside the chicken (it can become hardened). i can't remember where we received this advice ourselves but it did the trick. good luck.
thanks yeah i'm going to try the bath thing and vaseline.....I don't feel a egg in there (from the outside) so maybe she's got a infection too.....I don't know.....I'll take a picture of it and post it in the morning....maybe someone else has ideas what it is if its not being egg bound.
Thanks again....I can only hope for the best. :)
Thanks! Vana
