Just moved out to Duke City with my wife, who grew up here, and were looking to raise some chickens and produce in our backyard. Its not to big...but enough space to have fun with! If anyone has an old coop that they dont use or need to get rid I would be happy to take it off their hands.
I was also thinking about building my own but thought id look around first...thanks for your time!
I just saw your post. It's funny, I was in your position about two weeks ago, but couldn't find anything locally. After much research for my blind rescue chicken (and her 2 future companions) I ordered this one, which I think will make a great little starter coop:
The reviews are really good, with the suggestion of using your own hardware to make it even stronger. My plan is to also enclose one of my existing garden beds and attach it so they have more room to graze (I can't let them roam free because I have a dog).
HOWEVER.... the day after I ordered this, a friend offered to sell me his, which is used but has a few components that I think would make life easier for a blind chicken. So... rather than returning this one, which should arrive Monday, I would happily sell it to you for exactly what I paid -- $210, minus the $15 return shipping fee.
