I am grateful to be part of the group, so thank you for accepting me and I am glad to be connected.
I have a few questions, So if I may ask you permission for your response's I would appreciate that.
I hope this is not too personal, I am conducting a bioregional survey for local sustainability.
So, thank you for all of your help.
#1: What type of feed do you feed your chickens (Organic or Non-organic)?
#2: What brand?
#3: How much do you usually spend on your feed of choice and how many pounds do you purchase at
once?
#4 How far do you drive to get your feed of choice (approx. milage and time)?
#5 What would you rate your local feed store (1-5/ 5 being the highest)?
#6 What would be on your "wish list", that feed stores don't offer in your area?
#7 If delivery service was available would you consider it for a small fee?
Thank you for your help,
Michael

2) Onate Layer 15% during laying, 22% during molt, alongside any leftovers we feed them (we're vegetarians and eat organic, so they benefit). During the growing season, they get greens from the garden as well.
3) About 18 bucks for a 50 pound bag and with 4 hens we go through 50 pounds in about a month.
4) Around 8 miles from my house, less than 7-8 minutes.
5) 4. We use Farmer's Feed in Los Ranchos and the guy there is great, it's a small local store selling local feed (Onate is made here in ABQ) so we really keep down the costs of shipping and also support local all the way.
6) Wish list... longer hours. Chickens aren't hard to keep and are a joy to have - there isn't a whole lot necessary to keep them happy and healthy.

Thank you soo much for you response! I know its a lot to ask for, however, I appreciate your time and willingness to offer.
My added question is: If feed stores offered delivery service would you consider it at a small fee or for free? And if for a small fee, how much would you consider to be fair?
Thank you,
Michael

I had to bribe my way in, but that's the way things work in the elite world of backyard chicken farming.
I get my feed from Clark's Pet Emporium, and it is simply a very marked up 40 or 50 pound bag of Onate Layer feed, 16% crumble. Not sure how much I spend per month--way more than a dozen eggs cost though. It is close by my house, so not a lot of investment with regards to time and gas money.
