Duke City Fix

Life, food, events, and community in Albuquerque, NM

I sent out an email to everyone in the group last night - sorry about that. I didn't realize that the "Send a Message" function would send a message to everyone. Duh. Anyway, just to remind everyone here is the plea:

We have a compost bin that has lots of good treats for chickens - insect pupae
and roaches and the like. Would anybody like to fatten up their chickens with
some yummy protein? We were hoping to borrow a willing chicken or three for a
few hours this coming weekend when we "turn the pile". If interested, please
let us know and we can provide more information and work out the details.

Thanks!

PS - if you want we have chard, tarragon, basil, mint, sage, thyme to trade for the chicken time.

I have three broody bantam hens you can borrow for the weekend. They go nutty when I take them out of their nesting boxes, but I'm sure they'd appreciate bugs. You can borrow one or all three. However, it's a busy weekend for me, so you'd either need to pick them up the night before or early in the AM.

If you have a cat carrier/dog crate or a few strawbales you could make a makeshift coop and have them stay the weekend.

Send me an email on DCF if you're interested.
