Being relatively new to ABQ, will someone please tell me the pros and cons of using frozen vs canned hominy in making posole? I've made it with frozen and loved it. How does the flavor and texture compare to canned?

I've tried canned when I couldn't find the frozen and wasn't thrilled with the results. The texture was different. If you can stock up on the frozen, do it!

No need to "stock up". Smith's carries Bueno's frozen Posole year rouond in their freezer case, and we make great posole with it.

I really don't like the canned. If you're looking for convenience, frozen is best, but for flavor, you can't beat the dried hominy/posole.
