Anyone have any recommendations for some good, basic abdominal stretches? Im looking for something to help relax and stretch the general lower GI area. If you have some links, for instruction on the position(s) that would be helpful also.
I'd recommend using a heat pack and then some conscious belly breathing to relax the lower belly, perhaps with hips flexed (ie reclined with legs up the wall, or reclined with feet on floor, knees leaning into each other). Also reclined twists, cobra, or warrior (is it warrior 2, reaching upwards? great stretch all the way from rear foot through hips, belly and up through chest.. if tailbone is tucked so that the low back doesn't collapse.) One more thought... squatting? making room for the belly to just relax and hang.
Damn, I need to get back into yoga. It's been too long, and once in the loop, it's as nourishing and natural as water, isn't it?
