Duke City Fix

Life, food, events, and community in Albuquerque, NM

Greetings, Yogi friends,

I'm new to town and also new to yoga. I've been poking around with videos, yogatoday.com, and a class here and there; I've decided with the move, I'm finally going to go out and find community! I'd really like to make it a regular practice.

For a young, yet exceptionally unflexible guy, do you have any recommendations for where in town to start? Are any studios or methods particularly good for the alarming novice?

Thanks! I appreciate any ideas you might have.

well from one inflexible guy to another, i cant say enough about High Desert Yoga. Their intro classes are a very good way to access the fundamental of Yoga without tearing yourself in half. Might want to start there.

Thank you! I'll definitely have to check that out when I get back in town :)

I've found that my overly un-limber runner's tendons open up more easily with hot yoga. I go to the place across the street from Milton's: http://hotyoga-abq.com

Yes, good for you for making a commitment to try it out. I would definitely recommend Bhava Yoga Studio on Walter and Central. Their website is www.bhavayogastudio.com Try starting off with one of their Fundamental courses with either Michael or Bea. Let me know what you think!
