In Oregon, a known bicycle friendly state, it still seems that there is still room for improvement. This wasn't that big of a deal, just using what was already there. A lesson for ABQ? See what you think.

I saw one of these bikes on Comanche? I attended a birthday party on Saturday and three of the attendees had recently been clipped by cars. I thought riding a motorcycle was hazardous! Let me know how I can help.

The Duke City Wheelmen Foundation is a non-profit organizations that places ghost bikes. We will place a ghost bike for the cyclist killed March 22, 2010 while cycling on the bike path adjacent to Paseo del Norte. Our sympathies go out to the family and friends of this cyclist. If any of you reading this have an old bicycle you would like to donate, please let gleejb know here on Duke City Fix. Thanks.

Remembering Roy Sekreta. Newest Ghost Bike in Albuquerque. Stop by and pay your respects.
Comment by gleejb on March 4, 2010 at 8:09am
Cyclist Roy Sekreta was killed two years ago yesterday, March 3. He was hit by a driver who fled the scene, but because the driver returned half an hour later, he was not charged with hit and run.

Look for a ghost bike back up for Roy soon - at Comanche and the bike path.
