30/30 Hooping Challenge: Commit to hooping 30 minutes every day for 30 days.  If you want, join hooping.org and journal your experience for a chance to win prizes.  I'm doing it!  http://www.hooping.org/2011/09/fall-reintegration-our-3030-challeng...

Thanks Alaska.  I will make an effort to keep things hopping here, as well.  Hope to see you soon!

Yay, Nicole! Thanks for picking up our hooping slack! Life has been crazy lately! I think we've all just gotten caught up with life, and hooping has been sadly put on the back burner. :( Boo, right!?

Thanks for making the FB group, that will be nice. My only worry is, of course, that this one will die even more..I like to support the fix, because its focused on local things. But FB is cool too, and more widely used, so...power to ya, sista! :)

Thanks again for keeping the hoop flow going here in ABQ! We reeeeaaaally appreciate it!!

Mad love and hooping!! :) <3 :)

Hello everyone,

I started an ABQ Hoopers fb page and fb group.  Hope it's okay that I used info and etc from this page- I figure it's all one and the same and any hooping presence or visibility here in ABQ is a good thing. I've been seeing some new faces at the park lately, which is wonderful.  Hope to see you soon!

Hey Nicole! Thanks for keepin the hoop vibe up! I'm afraid that all the OG members have just been vey busy! For us in the Roustabout circus collective, the summer is a super busy booking time. We are packed with classes, gigs, and trying to maintain life afterthat! Heehee

Right now the hooping gals from the roustabouts (the ritzy rouge) are doing a hoop play area at ABQ Summer Nights at the Biopark every thuds from 6-8pm. So, a lot of our energy has been going into that.

Burning man is also coming up at the end of august, so alot of us are getting prepared for that too!

Ah! Summer is so crazy! I think we all want to rekindle hoop day, so thanks so much for your inspiration! Keep on hoopin girl, we'll be makin back when we can for sure!

Thanks again!! You rock!

Hello fellow hoopers!

I just returned from HoopFest New England in Brunswick, Maine.  I had a fantastic time and I'm charged up and ready for more.  Here's a video compilation: HoopFest NE 2011

I've been inviting people to Bataan Park on Sundays and bringing extra hoops, but participation has been sparse with the exception of a few regulars.  Where is everyone?  Am I missing something?

Let's jumpstart this scene!  See you at the park.

Is this group/community still pretty active?

Do any of you hoopers know what the travel restrictions are for full-size hoops on airlines? I have 3 hoops I want to bring with me when I go see family/nephew's graduation in Indiana. Can I check them w/o having to pay a special fee? Have never tried the collapsible/portable ones--any recommendations? Thanks in advance and happy hooping!

I'm happy to find that there is an active hooping community in Albuquerque. Can hardly wait to hoop with you folks! The pictures were neat too. Out of curiosity, have you folks heard of Nia dancing?
